Amazing tickets, amazing vibe

It's been my dream for ages to come to Rome and see all that ancient stuff, and it was amazing. I went into the Colosseum, where all those gladiators fought without waiting in line. Later, I enjoyed walking through the Roman Forum and then climbing the Palatine Hill for the famous panoramic view. I'm soooo glad to have bought this Roman Forum entrance ticket!

THE COLOSSEUM: LEGACY OF EMPEROR TITUS

This ancient amphitheater is best known as the place where gladiator fights took place. But did you know that it also hosted all kinds of different events? Wild animal hunts, music performances, executions of criminals, even re-enactments of naval battles! A symbol of entertainment and a place that hosted the most spectacular events in ancient Rome, the Colosseum was opened by emperor Titus in 80 AD. To honor his victories and many achievements, the Romans built the Arch of Titus, which still remains on the Roman Forum.

THE ROMAN FORUM: THE CENTER OF THE EMPIRE

The Roman Forum was more than just a physical space; it was the heart of the ancient Roman Empire in many significant ways. It was a commercial hub, the heart of political life, and a religious center, all in one! And there were buildings that incorporated all those elements under a single roof. One such example is the Temple of Saturn, situated at the western end and overlooking the Roman Forum. It served as a place of worship but also as a treasury for the Roman Republic. Yes, this is the place where they stashed their gold and silver. You can learn many interesting facts about buildings, monuments, and temples on the Roman Forum from the video.

THE PALATINE HILL: BIRTHPLACE OF ROME

Palatine Hill, the birthplace of many pivotal Roman legends, is where the she-wolf famously found Romulus and Remus. It was also here that Romulus, after the death of his brother, founded a city destined to rule a vast empire. For centuries, it was the place where the leading families of Rome built their villas. With the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire, the hill became the property of the emperors. This was the place where they built their splendid palaces. The most prominent of all Roman hills, the Palatine, overlooks the entire center of ancient Rome. The view of Circus Maximus, another great attraction, is spectacular from here!

Via Sacra: The artery of Ancient Rome

All roads lead to Rome, but once you get there, where do you go? The most prominent road in the city was the Via Sacra, or 'Sacred' Street.

As the name suggests, it was much more than just a street - it held significant religious, political, commercial, and military importance. It started at the top of Capitoline Hill, passed right through the Roman Forum, and ended at the doorsteps of the Colosseum. This street stretched through the center of the city, passing by the most important public and religious buildings along the way.

Via Sacra was also the route for the triumphal procession, a traditional civil ceremony and religious rite granted to a military leader who had led Roman forces to victory. The Arch of Titus, which you can still visit today, is dedicated to one such leader - Emperor Titus, who also inaugurated the Colosseum in 80 AD, marking the final destination of Via Sacra. With Roman Forum tickets, you get a chance to see the best-preserved parts of this remarkable street!
