Passionate guide & unique experience

Thank you to our guide, Giulia, you were amazing! She took us all around Rome and explained everything about the sites we passed by, including the Colosseum and the incredible Circus Maximus. It was nothing like a history lesson in school, it was actually interesting! She took care of us during the bike ride, too. We were a small group, which is far better. All in all, it was a really unique experience and we learned a looot! It is the best bike tour in Rome, for sure!

Nora

The quickest way to see all of Rome!

Our guide was very welcoming and knew a lot about the history of Rome and what the city is like today because she lives there. We saw so many monuments and places, and the Bike Tour Rome was the fastest way to do it. The meeting point is right in the city center, it was really close to our rental in Rome. I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit everything but has just a few hours in the city.

DESCRIPTION

Rome Bike Tour

AN ADVENTURE IN THE ANCIENT CITY

Make sightseeing in Eternal City more fun by exploring it on a bike! Along with the top landmarks like the Colosseum, you get to see and experience what people usually don't – a living, breathing city where so many events from history books happened. Watch the Romans live their modern lives and imagine what the ancient Romans used to do in the same places.

SO MANY ROMAN SITES ON JUST ONE TOUR!

We will take you past the Colosseum, an impressive building where gladiators used to fight each other or wild animals as entertainment. Our tour guide will explain everything behind the spectacles and why the people of the time found it fun. Later on, you can explore it thoroughly and in detail with a Colosseum Private Tour, guided by a licensed expert for the full experience. After the Colosseum, the tour will continue to the Trevi Fountain, one of the most recognizable and photographed places in Rome. According to legend, if you toss a coin in the fountain, you will return to Rome. Next, see the famous Spanish Steps on Piazza di Spagna. Hear about the magnificence of the Parthenon from your guide, and see one of the biggest sports arenas ever – the Circus Maximus. You will also visit St. Peter's Square in the Vatican. It was designed by Bernini and completed in 1667. You can explore the square where Papal audiences take place and see the impressive St. Peter's Basilica.

THE VIEW FROM AVENTINE HILL

The Keyhole of Rome or the Aventine Keyhole offers a unique view of three countries! If you look through the keyhole, you can see Italy because Rome is in Italy, so that makes sense. You can also see St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. The Vatican is in Rome, so again, it makes perfect sense. So, how is it possible to see Malta, an island country, from Rome? Well, the door leads to the Priory of the Knights of Malta, which has an extraterritorial status, meaning it belongs to Malta. The Knights of Malta have existed since the 11th century when they opened a hospital in Jerusalem for pilgrims of any religion. The order still exists today, with about 13,500 members, and its mission is to protect the faith and help the poor.

EXPERT LOCAL GUIDE AT YOUR DISPOSAL

Did you know that returning an item you didn't like first started in Rome? That's right, the Romans thought up store credits and refunds. There are so many fun facts you can learn about Rome. Our guide will share everything they know, and you can ask them anything else that interests you!

A taste of what you will see

Navona Square, or Piazza Navona, was built over the remains of another building, the Stadium of Domitian. If the Colosseum was unavailable, gladiatorial combats would have been held here, and about 30,000 people could have attended the events. To see what these ancient fights look like, consider booking the Colosseum Virtual Reality Tour.

Circus Maximus, one of the largest sports arenas ever, could possibly seat 250,000 people!

The Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini depicts four river gods and shows the Vatican's dominance over the world. The fountain includes representations of the Nile, the Danube, the Ganges, and the Río de la Plata, with plants, animals, and other symbols to help people identify the rivers.

The Pantheon had the biggest dome for a long time. Its highest point is 22 meters above ground. The building still confuses even the experts, as the method of its construction is unknown.
